Top scholarships for women

The Laurels Fund was established in 1978 for the purpose of providing scholarships to female students who are pursuing advanced degrees in Accounting. This Fund provides a one-year scholarship for a woman who is pursuing a PhD degree in accounting. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.

The Judith Resnik Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students who are AstroE, AstroET, AeroE, or AeroET majors. Applicants with SWE membership are preferred. SWE scholarships support students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in engineering, engineering technology, and fields related to engineering. Applicants must be studying at an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology or computing in the upcoming academic year. Students who attend an ABET-accredited community college program are also eligible to apply. The scholarship reviewers focus on extracurricular activities, work history, volunteerism, and interest and involvement in STEM. Applicants must submit one reference, either from someone who can speak to the applicant's academic work, such as a teacher, or someone who knows the applicant well and can speak to their character, such as a coach or supervisor. Each year, CLF selects students to be part of the Leadership and Scholarship Program. Applicants must self-identify as a Chicana and/or Latina. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college in one of the following California counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, San Francisco, Sonoma, or Yolo. Paula Loring endowed the Paula Loring Simon Scholarship in 2014 for CprE, CS, and EE students. This scholarship is renewable for four years. SWE considers academic achievements, participation in extracurricular or volunteer activities, and interest in engineering. The Anne Maureen Whitney Barrow Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an entering freshman in engineering or engineering technology. It is renewable for three additional years and, consequently, is awarded only once every four years. SWE considers academic achievements, participation in extracurricular or volunteer activities, and interest in engineering. Those who identify as a woman and pursue an ABET-accredited program may apply for this scholarship. Students who attend an ABET-accredited community college program full-time are also eligible. A personal reference and STEM reference are required. The personal reference must be a person who has known the applicant for two or more years and who is not a relative or member of the applicant's family. For the STEM reference, it is highly recommended that the reference be someone in a STEM field who is familiar with the applicant's academic work. Yvonne Claeys Brill was a pioneering propulsion engineer and tireless advocate for women in the engineering profession. Yvonne's family endowed the scholarship to honor Yvonne, who was an inspiration. This scholarship is available to Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or Biomedical Engineering majors.
