The Tri-County EMC $400 Scholarships will be awarded to a non-traditional student. Applicants must be a child of a Tri-County Electric member; or live in a home served by Tri-County Electric; or have attended high school in Tri-County EMC's territory: Charles B. Aycock, Eastern Wayne, Wayne School of Engineering, Wayne Early College, Rosewood, Southern Wayne, Spring Creek, East Duplin, Duplin Early College, James Kenan, North Duplin, North Lenoir, or South Lenoir. The E. Craig Brandenburg Scholarship is open to applicants over age 35 at any degree level. Preference will be given to students changing to a second career. Applicants must be an active, full member of The United Methodist Church for at least one year. Robert T. Kenney Scholarships are awarded primarily based on financial need, with consideration given to academic performance, community involvement, and other indications of a strong desire to achieve goals through education. Applicants must be a current high school senior, current college student, or a nontraditional adult student. They must be a United States citizen or a non-U.S. citizen who is able to apply for federal student aid; or you have been granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status, as evidenced by a valid Employment Authorization Card. Applicants must also live in any one of the 64 Connecticut towns served by the American Savings Foundation. Current scholars may reapply each year while they are in college, and most of the scholars receive support for all four years. The Sterbenz-Ryan Scholarship was established in 2016 by local businessmen Richard Sterbenz and Martin Ryan who wanted to "give kids like them a shot at life they never had." Scholarships will be offered to eligible traditional and non-traditional students who otherwise may not have the opportunity to attend a public post-secondary school in Minnesota or Wisconsin due to challenging life circumstances and financial constraints. The Bergmann Family 'Lay a Solid Foundation' Educational Scholarship - Re-entry will help lay a solid foundation for adult re-entry students. There is a preference for applicants from outlying Arizona counties (all counties besides Maricopa, Pinal and Pima). Applicants must study nursing, accounting, biology, ecology, finance management, engineering, mathematics, and sciences. The Georgia Harkness Scholarship is designed to encourage women to prepare for ordained ministry as an elder in The United Methodist Church as a second career. The College JumpStart Show Grit Scholarship rewards students who demonstrate grit and who continue to push themselves in spite of obstacles or challenges. Attending college is not an easy feat and takes years of commitment to achieve. This is your time to tell us what challenges you have faced and how you've demonstrated grit to get to where you are. If this topic doesn't speak to you, you may also write about any topic of your choice. Applicants must be current students (high school 10th-12th or college) or planning to enter college within the next 12 months; and U.S. citizens or legal residents. Mary had been an avid investor and left a significant bequest to SWE to fund the Mary V. Munger Memorial Scholarship, which must be awarded to a junior or senior women engineering student or a re-entry scholar. The minimum GPA for collegiate or graduate applicants is 3.0. Re-entry and nontraditional students are exempt from minimum GPA requirements. Applicants must be studying full-time, however, exceptions will be made for reentry or nontraditional students. SWE scholarships support students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in engineering, engineering technology, and fields related to engineering. Applicants must be studying at an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology or computing in the upcoming academic year. Students who attend an ABET-accredited community college program are also eligible to apply. A SWE membership is not required to apply. However, becoming a SWE member may qualify applicants for additional scholarships and add additional points to the applicant's application review score.
